I Haven’t Disappeared

I’ve been working on a very detailed post about Kevin Trenberth’s article Has Global Warming Stalled? that appears at the Royal Meteorological Society website. A very similar article with only minor differences was also published at TheConversation.com with the title “Global warming is here to stay, whichever way you look at it”, and was subsequently cross posted at ClimateProgress and more recently at SkepticalScience. It likely appears elsewhere, too. Not too surprisingly, Michael Mann has also jumped on the bandwagon, citing Balmaseda et al (2013) Distinctive climate signals in reanalysis of global ocean heat content as proof that global warming continues.  As I was writing the post, Mann made his contribution to the Grist.org cutely titled blog post “It’s hard to sea, but the globe is still warming”.

I’ve just finished the first draft of my open letter to the Royal Meteorological Society and hope to publish it tomorrow.   It includes some real goodies that I’ve been saving for a special occasion.
